10,000 Poker Players Swarm to Paddy Power

irish land-based and online bookie, Paddy Power have announced that almost 10,000 players have signed up to their poker site - in less that a year.

Even though that represents a miniscule amount compared to the poker behemoths, for the traditional bookie, online casinos and poker is taking a healthy 10% of their total profits

Paddy Poker also mentioned that a quarter of its turnover on its online sportsbook is taken from 'betting-in-running', moving it away from its traditional fixed odds product

Gross win from Paddy Power's gaming book increased to €17 million from €6m in 2004. The sports book, which has been up and running for some years has gross win of €26 million.
