A fugitive who spent 11 years on the run after driving off with almost $3 million from the Circus Circus casino in Vegas gave herself up last September - and received a 5 year sentence for the robbery.

Heather Tallchief spent her years on the run in Amsterdam with her son. Her co-conspirator and ex-boyfriend remains a fugitive. Tallchief claims she has no idea where he is - and that he has the money. They came up with the elaborate heist when she was a armoured car driver

Tallchief came clean claiming she wanted to start a new life and take care of her son.

Tallchief surrendered in September and pleaded guilty in October to bank and credit union embezzlement and passport fraud.

Before handing down the sentence, federal Judge Philip Pro listened to nearly a full day of testimony about whether Tallchief had been "brainwashed" into the crime by her then-boyfriend, Roberto Solis.

The defense also played a video featuring testimonials from friends who knew Tallchief as Donna Eaton when she was hiding in Amsterdam.
