Jeff Williams must be thanking his lucky stars that Europe is more open in its age laws because at 19, he is still to young to play poker legally in his home country.
Over the weekend, Williams, who may look like he's just out of high school, but is actually a freshman at the University of Georgia beat a host of pros at the european poker tour Grand Final in Monte Carlo. He won 900,000 euros in the tournament that attracted 300 of the best players in Europe and the World - including WSOP champions such as Greg Raymer, Joe Hachem and Marcel Luske.
The teenager won entry to the 10,000-Euro ($11,914) tournament by winning a $40 online poker tournament last month on the Web site PokerStars.com. The smaller tournament granted him entry into a larger, $650 online poker tournament that allowed its top nine players to play in the EPT Grand Final.
But the poor guy (or not so poor nowadays) still has 2 years to wait before he can even enter the World Series
