OK, I've been mulling this over for a while and my first tip of the night is Best Male actor to cry during his acceptance speech at the 2006 Oscars - 8/1 (PaddyPower)

My second tip, is George Clooney to take the Best Supporting Actor gong for his role in Syriana. As an actor, I actually prefer Paul Giamatti, who is the favourite to win for his portrayal of Joe Gould in cinderella Man. But at 6/4 Clooney worth a second look.

Clooney has two films in the running and Hollywood likes him but they won't be able to give him anything for directing Good Night & Good Luck - not when he's up against odds-on favourite Ang Lee for Brokeback Mountain - and likewise for Best Picture.

Giamatti was good in Cinderella Man but he was in no way outstanding, Clooney on the other hand has done well this year and the Academy will want to reward him. The only realistic chance he has of grabbing a gong will be for Best Supporting Actor and at 6/4 it's worth a punt.
