Congressman Barney Frank's Internet Gambling Bill is gaining momentum and there are now a total of 39 co-sponsors for the bill.

I maintain that the real reason the Federal Government wants to curtail or eliminate Internet gambling is because they can't get their paws on a gambler's winnings, in the form of taxes.

But online gambling, by Americans is on the rise; and the major casinos here in Las Vegas have been quietly investing in overseas Internet gambling businesses.

That says to me that it can't be long before the restrictive law passed last year will be repealed. It will be replaced with another that makes it possible for Americans to fund gambling accounts via credit card again.

This way the American gambling industry can be more fully involved in online gambling, as long as they find away to collect Federal taxes from player's winnings, as in bricks and mortar casinos.

Here's where you can read the details of Barney Frank's efforts for Americans who want to engage in online gambling.
