Bush Wants To Bail Out Corporate Gamblers
Filed in archive Gambling and the Law on September 28, 2008

I've long maintained that "playing" the stock market is nothing more than another form of gambling.
Gamblers "play", that is, bet on the horses, the tables, poker, and place bets on just about everything under the sun, without any guarantees that they will win.
So what does someone who "plays" the stock market do? That's easy; he or she places bets, in the form of "buy orders", without any promise of a rise in value, and then sits back and wait to see if the stock is a "winner."
I don't see any difference, there's no guarantee of any kind with either venture, a player can lose it all or just some, or win a "jackpot", or a little bit, or break even.
That's gambling folks, and that's what the boys and girls of Wall Street do every day, with other people's money and they've been on a long, hard losing streak.
But the Bush Government has seen fit to underwrite this nearly one trillion dollar bad bet with your tax money.
Considering that this is the same Administration that is dead set against Internet gambling for adult Americans I find it hypocritical that they would pick up the tab for their rich friends under the guise of "saving the nation's economy."
You place a bet; you take your chance, win or lose. That's it, no second chance, unless the U.S. Government is involved, then, if you're in favor, you get a do over.
Boy, I'd like the government to pay me back for all the loser nags I bet on at Aqueduct and Yonkers Raceway in the 60's.
Anyway, read the details about the government bailout of Wall Street gamblers, and come election day remember to vote for the politicians that support what you want.

Hey thanks for your gambling web blog. There's no guarantee of any kind that a player can lose it all or just some, or win a "jackpot", or a little bit, or break even.
