Detroit was among the first American cities, other than Las Vegas to open casinos and the industry still flourishes there.
In some ways Detroit could be considered the Las Vegas of the Midwest. It has casinos bearing famous names such as MGM, and now, the casino industry is working hard to feature tourism combined with gambling, much the same as Las Vegas.
Detroit is already the fifth largest gambling market in the United States, and with growth in the tourism industry gaining momentum, the city's market share could well increase considerably.
