Gambling General
by jim on May 25, 2008

California, like most States, has a huge deficit, something in the neighborhood of 17 billion bucks, in fact.
Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger wants to terminate that debt and has come up with a plan that many of the State's residents are referring to as a gamble.
Basically what he wants to do is borrow against expected future lottery revenue and he plans to make changes to the state's lottery in order to attract more players.
This is what Schwarzenegger wants to do to the California State lottery.
I hope they don't do anything to it that will lessen my chance of hitting it. Every few months I make the short trip to California to buy tickets because that lottery figures prominently in my retirement plans. I haven't hit it yet, but hey, I've only been playing it for about 20 years.
Here's the link to the California lottery website.
