Clooney paid $90 million last year for prime Las Vegas land near the strip with hopes to build a $3 billion classy casino. Stories came out and promptly fizzled away about partnerships with Ocean's 11 co-star Brad Pitt to help develop the upmarket 'Las Ramblas' and star power was helped along with Cindy Crawford's husband Rande Gerber as a key partner.
However, the dreams of running a rat pack style casino have been sold to the highest bidder – rising costs have forced Clooney and co to sell the land for a hefty $202 million.
Clooney has announced he'll donate his profit to the African Debt Relief Project
Clooney, who has become celebrity advocate number-one with regard to the human rights crisis in darfur, Sudan, said in a statement. "And I guess I'll find someplace else to gamble."
