FIFA to Set Up Bet Watch for World Cup

FIFA will be keeping an eye on suspicious betting patterns during this year's world cup.

After being rocked by a huge betting scandal last year, the footballing governing body, FIFA will be working in parallel with other companies to trying to spot any strange manipulations both on the field and off. The work will continue after the competition has finished

"This company will be monitoring unusual betting in all competitions, including in the World Cup," FIFA general secretary Linsi said on Friday.

"I think we've taken the necessary steps (to prevent match-fixing). And this is not just for the World Cup."
