Fishing For Whales In Macau

Whales are big and in the gaming industry a "whale" is a person designated as what used to be called a "High Roller."

Just how much does someone have to play or bet to be regarded as a "Whale?" A casino will gladly send a chartered plane to pick one up for free, anywhere in the world. The "Whale" will be put up in the property's most expensive suite, for free, and basically given whatever else he or she wants, for free.

You don't get this kind of star treatment in exchange for betting a C note on a roll of the dice, no, it takes a lot more than that, even a thousand bucks a throw is child's play in the Whale's ocean.

You better plan on bets of $100K or so to be seriously considered for entry into this exclusive club, and, be prepared to drop a million or more, every day.

Competition for Whale's patronage among Las Vegas casinos has always been frenetic and now the same thing is happening in Macau, not only for Whales, but for let's say, the mini-Whales as well.

Read about how the owner's of the once failed Crown Macau Casino turned the property around by ignoring the little fish and chasing after the big ones.
