German betting shops catch World Cup feverWith the Germany-hosted World Cup 2006 looming, its promises to be a boom period for potential bookies.
Until recently German Law ruled betting shops illegal because it was a state monopoly. However, a series of legal rulings have made the potential of competitive betting shops more likely and in an apparant rush to hit the streets before the law is actually passed, Germany is now seeing a huge increase in the number of bookies setting up shops.
Its estimated turnover increases 50% during a world cup
