In Florida, as is the case in many areas of the United States, there is hostile opposition either to gambling as a whole or to particular forms of gambling.

This time the battle centered on video gambling machines, much the same as in other places, such as Maryland, but fans of video gambling in The Sunshine State have come out ahead in the latest round.

The Florida State Senate has voted overwhelmingly to allow video gambling machines.
