Harrogate, somewhere in Yorkshire, is already one of the top 5 locations for conventions and exhibitions in the UK. Now they want to add to the £160million a year they get from that by opening a new casino. Under the new Gambling Act, Harrogate cam make their intentions known that they want to home one of the new 'small-size' casinos, of which eight are up for grabs.
Tourism is another key industry for Harrogate, although I have to admit I've never been, and a casino will only bring in more tourists and their money. Given the choice between them and Luton, I might be persuaded to take a trip up North (They'll probably cancel their application now).
