Have Casino. But no Gambling Allowed
The Kewadin Shores Casino and Hotel opened in June this year in Michigan. It cost $36 million to build and offers restaurants, pools and the usual luxury.

It also has a 29,000 sq ft casino filled with slots and tables that currently sits abandoned. A mix up during development meant that the casino was built on land that didn't allow Indian gambling.

Currently a discussion (say, argument) is happening between the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of chippewa indians about who is to blame - the current or former chairmen. However, in the meantime, the tribe are moving forward to build yet another casino - this time on suitable land.
It wasn't until after we had the pilings and foundation in place that we realized that something wasn't right," current Chairman Aaron Payment said. "We did another survey and found that all but 30 feet of the casino was on ineligible land."

"Payment knew about the problem before I left office and has had 2 1/2 years to work it out," former Chairman Bernard Bouschor said. "It wasn't me. It was a nice try by him to blame me, but I don't accept any responsibility for his screw-up."
