There was excitement galore in Bangor as the long awaited "Hollywood Slots" opened on Tuesday.
The facility, which is more or less connected to the nearby racetrack, boasts of ultra modern amenities and will feature several restaurants that specialize in a variety of ethnic food.
Over 1000 slot machines will be available so there should be something for everyone. The recent "soft" or test opening, during which a small number of dignitaries were able to play the machines, went smoothly, which further built the general public's anticipation of the grand opening.
Here's some additional information about Bangor's "Hollywood Slots".
Hoolywood Slots in Bangor is a fairly enjoyable place to hit the slots. The machines are sporadically loose, but definitely tight in the majority of spins I have noted. Once in a while on a holiday or on a promotion day-things are looser and the money flows. The machines are pretty much up to date, but the addition of new machines is slow in coming, Teh Buffet serves the same fare each day and that grows old for frequent visitors looking for a meal. They could use another meal outlet: perhaps a pub or deli and a raw bar as well-Heck guys we are in MAINE! The staff is great and quick to help out! Drinks are not free, but the cocktail waitresses are always around. Its not Vegas and definitely not Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun-but in a pinch it is pretty good overall. I give it three stars out of Five ***
