It's time to check in with Macau, the world's biggest competitor to Las Vegas, and some of what's going on there may surprise you.
For starters Macau recently surpassed Las Vegas for total casino take in a given period of time.
It didn't particularly shock or upset the casino owners here in Las Vegas since they own most of the Macau casinos anyway.
It's obvious that there has been a loss of some Asian gamblers in Las Vegas; yet, local surveys have revealed that a large number of them are returning to Las Vegas.
Now there is going to be a freeze on new casino development in Macau and with all the new, massive properties under construction in Las Vegas perhaps after they open Las Vegas will regain the lead.
