The biggest football (soccer) club in the world, Manchester United, are in talks with a large US casino operator - likely to be Las Vegas Sands (owner of the Venetian) - to put in an offer to become one of the UK's 8 'super casinos' once the new UK gambling regulations go through
The stadium at Old Trafford, where the proposal suggests as its location, would provide access to its huge fanbase, and almost 70,000 matchday regulars.
However, Man Utd are quick to point out this is preliminary discussions - and could be years away if indeed they were granted a licence
