A South Australian MP who is known for his tough anti-gambling stance is looking for the government to put a stop to SMS/text betting start up txt2bet alleging that this 24/7 betting option is more likely to put young people at risk.
"It will lead to more problem gambling because of its very easy access and we know from a Productivity Commission report on gambling, that the more accessibility the form of gambling is, the greater the risk of problem gambling," he said.

Naturally, txt2bet deny this allegation and claim the debit-only facility actually makes the system safer than other formats since an audit trail is available

Lets put it another way - the anti-gambling politician is always going to find fault, whilst the operator will naturally make an articulate defense. And so we continue.
