Bingo is alive and well in America; but it's in Great Britain where the game is really popular and becoming more so all the time.
For anyone who thinks that bingo is a fall asleep game for blue haired old ladies think again.
My wife and I went to a bingo hall in a casino here in Las Vegas, and I was exhausted after about 2 hours of play. These games are fast moving, and I only had 4 cards to keep track of, and could barely keep up with the bingo caller.
Meanwhile the "blue haired" lady crowd had no problem with a dozen or so cards. Damn I felt more beat up after that short session than I did after a football game during my high school years!
Here's the press release about the newly opened Mecca Bingo Club in Kent, England.
I found a website with about as complete a list of bingo clubs in the U.K. as you can find and it includes an interactive map as well.
With this map you can easily locate and obtain directions to any U.K bingo club you have interest in.
Note too that there is a link to a similar map, of the U.S.A., for the location of bingo halls or "parlors" as we call them here.
