The jackpot came up when 5 numbers were matched on a keno nickel game. Most nickel games pay no more than about $3000 but the men are claiming the machine was showing messages that matching all numbers would win more than 4 million nickels. There seems to be no dispute that this was the result shown on the screen.
There are currently ongoing investigations as to whether there were any software errors - there have been regular maintenance and software updates.
