The Chinese authorities have sentenced an online bookie to 2.5 years in prison and fined almost $4000.

Gu Lianbo ran possibly the biggest online soccer betting sites in Beijing, handling $74 million in bets, when the Chinese authorities began a massive crackdown for illegal gambling. They stormed his house last December and found $18,500 in cash - Gu was a banker for a website acting as an agent for a Taiwan-based betting site.
