Everything adds up as to why these months are jam-packed with gambling enthusiasts. With summer winding down, college and university kids back in town and the hype of the $30 million World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) has resulted in all online casinos numbers sky rocketing, from the biggest casinos to the smallest poker rooms out there.
No matter what the reason may be, the surge is lead by the two biggest players in the industry, PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker. Traffic at PokerStars is unprecedented, even for PokerStars who have solid numbers year-round. So far in September, traffic is up 34% over August, averaging 17,451 players per hour over the course of a day.
The 17,451 average makes September the busiest month for PokerStars, the world's most popular online poker site, with the busiest day being September 14th, when the site averaged 20,496 players, including 3,467 players who signed up for the $1,050 WCOOP event.
Trailing behind PokerStars is their number one competitor, Full Tilt Poker, who saw a strong increase of 28% this month averaging 7,890 players, well behind industry leader PokerStars.
