Online Poker On Par With Child Pornography in Washington State
Filed in archive Gambling General on June 2, 2006
Washington State clearly couldn't wait anymore for the US to decide whether to ban online gambling or not - so they've gone ahead and done it themselves.
From June 7, if you're found playing poker online you'll be committing a Class C felony - thats a $10,000 fine or up to 5 years in prison.
To put this new law into perspective, a Class C felony covers child pornographers, drug dealers and identity thieves.
So for those Seattle gamblers, playing a hand of blackjack on the internet is really that bad.
Time to move state.
