Whilst another 41 poker players got busted for illegal high stake poker games in Denver, the CEO of bodog.net is looking for the next reality TV star

In the bizarre dichotomy that currently exists with poker in the US, several dozen gamblers were arrested last weekend at 2 clubs – playing $2-3,000 hands of Texas Hold'em.

As these arrests were made, TV and the internet were joining forces to satisfy the seemingly neverending American appetite for poker and reality TV.

Bodog CEO, Calvin Ayre, will be inviting poker players to his Costa Rican mansion to film a 6-episode series to find the next poker TV star

The television series will intimately detail the journey of 40 individuals — 10 celebrities, 10 poker professionals and 20 Bodog poker players — who intend to use their card-playing skills to capture the US $500,000 grand prize. Each episode will feature a poker game, with each winner taking US $50,000 and securing a spot at the sixth and final table for a chance to win the half-million-dollar grand prize.

So whilst Americans laud the next big poker player, just watch your backs when playing a hand. Or failing that, stick to the internet – its safer that way
