"Bringing PokerPro to Macau is a major milestone," said Lou White, Chief Executive Officer for PokerTek. "Thanks to our technology, PokerPro will enable operators to offer live poker to their guests, while assisting with the issue of dealer shortages in the region."
"Poker's popularity is in its early stages in Macau, providing us a great opportunity to introduce new players to this universal game," said Mr. Ciaran Carruthers, Chief Operating Officer for StarWorld Hotel and Casino. "StarWorld Hotel and Casino is innovative in bringing the latest electronic games to our customers and we are proud to be the first operator here to offer live poker by installing PokerPro." This installation of PokerPro coincides with the relaunch of StarWorld's 3rd level gaming floor.
The Galaxy Starworld installation is the latest in a string of recent Aristocrat successes leveraging PokerPro. Recently, Germany's Casino Wiesbaden installed an additional table due to the game's popularity at the property, in addition to a new installation at Club Tropicana in the Philippines.
"There has always been strong interest in PokerPro, and the Macau market was no exception," said Steve Parker, Group General Manager of Sales, Marketing and Research & Development at Aristocrat. "As time passes and regulatory hurdles get cleared, we have begun to see more interested operators convert their interest into action."
