Russian Bill to signal the end of pre-school gambling
Filed in archive Gambling General by simon on March 24, 2006

Russia's State Duma (not pictured) has taken steps to end underage gambling. Anyone under the age of 18 will be banned from gambling establishments and slot machines that can be easily assessed by youths will have to be moved. The proposed bill will signal the end of gambling outlets in such areas as: residential buildings, bus stations, railways and bizarrely the buildings of religious organisations and pre-school childcare
facilities.
In the course of writing this entry I've just learnt that the first reading of the Bill has been passed with 300 votes in favour and 105 against with one abstention.
