Slot Machine Jackpot Or Not

How would you like to have a slot machine you're playing ring up a $1,600,000.00 jackpot?
Right, ask another dumb question.
That's what happened to Gary Hoffman at the Sandia Resort and Casino, but then he was told by casino officials that the machine had malfunctioned, and he was due zilch.
Here's Gary's story about the slot machine jackpot that wasn't.
So what does the law have to say about this kind of thing?
As you would expect there are almost as many opinions as there are slot machines. Generally, because the machines carry disclaimers about malfunctions, the casino doesn't have to pay, if it can prove there was a malfunction.
Here's a story aboutslot machine malfunctions that didn't work out in the player's favor, and another about a slot machine jackpot disappointment.
But sometimes the customer does win out, as in this case, where, although it wasn't a jackpot caused by a malfunction, the customers beat the casino, by accident.
