The Hypocrisy of the US Gambling Industry

The message is simple - people gamble. They'll always gamble and they'll always find an outlet to gamble
You see, gambling is immoral, except when done through lotteries, keno, off-track betting, Indian ca-sinos, riverboat casinos, dog races, horse races, jai-alai frontons, card rooms and other wagering venues blessed by the states. And betting on college sports is especially evil, unless you do it in Las Vegas, whose casinos expect to make about $90 million off March Madness alone
Why should Nevada keep 100% of the legal sportsbook spoils - when states across America would also like a piece of the pie? Nevada controls this industry and opposes a law change.
With the advent of online poker, most Americans don't care anymore if its legal or otherwise - as long as they get paid out - and 99% of the time, they do.
There is a downside to gambling - I think everyone knows and accepts this. But whilst one hand in most state governments funds help for problem gambling, the other hand is feeding
the proliferation - allowing Indian tribe casinos across their states. Its probably time for the US government to modernise and regulate and then they can legitimately concern themselves with everything else
