The Tale of Poker's Superstar Crew
Filed in archive Poker on June 2, 2005

If its even possible, poker has upped the stakes in coolness this month as Rolling Stone features an article on the wunderkind 'crew' that stormed the poker world in 2004.
Run by ex-online poker guru and unstable even in his own words, Russel 'Dutch' Boyd, hastily put together his 'poker crew' when he came 12th in the World Series of Poker in 2003. The Crew consisted of a communal bankroll and a bunch of guys who's ability in poker was dubious at best. But ESPN and the wannabe poker players loved them - they were young, good looking, cool and played poker for a living. What more is there?
But after months of learning and literally taking the poker world by storm they finally fell apart at the seams.
Now they live life flitting between the real world of poker rooms and the online adrenalin rush, playing 8 to 12 hands at any one time - but one thing will never change - they're still winning as much money as possible
