Summer temperatures in Lake Tahoe are nothing like those in Las Vegas so if searing desert heat is not your bag Lake Tahoe's high altitude, countrified environs may be more to your liking.

In winter there is skiing in Tahoe, but if snow is a turn off to you, head south to Las Vegas where it's more temperate. Nevada has everything you want.
