Poker's World Series started this week at the Rio - over a month of poker tournaments culminating in the Main Event - with a $10,000 buy-in
USA Today have nicely gone through the numbers for the event:
30,000 poker players
$10,000,000 in potential prize money for the winner of the main event
$50,000 buy-in for H.O.R.S.E - the largest buy-in in WSOP history
$10,000 buy-in to the main event
8000 potential number of players in the main event
208 poker tables used
170 diamonds on the winners bracelet
45 tournaments in total
32 hours of TV coverage on ESPN
21 legal age to start playing in a WSOP tournament
1 Draw poker tournament
