In a bill that is widely awaited by the gambling industry to license casinos in Massachusetts might be unveiled. The bill would provide relief to the gambling industry as it involves licensing three Las Vegas-type casinos in the state and one slot machine only parlor.
Earlier last year the governor of the state had given a blow to the gambling industry in the state by refusing to give permission for three casinos and two slot parlors at the racetracks in the state. The Governor has finally agreed to the slot license provided these are limited in number and are competitively bid for. The House and Senate lawmakers have drafted the bill to make gambling licensed and are working with the Governor's staff so that the plan they develop is agreeable for the Governor.
The unveiling of the gambling bill will take place and it will be discussed before the full House and Senate after the Labor Day. Though the Governor and others have committed to bringing casino gambling to the state, there might be many issues still to be resolved.
