However, for over a year they have trailed rivals Bet365 in terms of innovation. They have had live roulette and other casino games allowing interaction with a dealer you can see for a long time. Odds on Spain Lengthen

The odds on the Spanish to win this year's World Cup in South Africa have just lengthened after a defeat to Switzerland in their first match of the group stage. The favourites remain at the top of the list but only just, odds across the board being around 9/2 compared to Brazil's 5/1. The odds where we are in the UK are dangerously flawed with England third favourites at 8/1, and these are not nearly long enough to make the bet worthwhile.

Now that we have come full circle for the first time in the group stages we can make mention of the lesser-known teams who have impressed and look fit to continue to do so, and discuss some of the outside bets which may be worth a look. While it is always unlikely that anyone but one of the four favourites will win, putting a small bet on the long odds on the off chance of an upset can often make things very interesting.

Group A has been blown wide open by draws in both of the first two matches, making Uruguay a good shout to win their second World Cup at 80/1. It will be interesting to see how the results of their next match against South Africa will alter this. Favourites from Group A France are at a very tasty 25/1 on William Hill, and that is definitely worth a look.

The Ivory Coast showed that Didier Drogba, their star striker, is ready to return and their odds will fall significantly soon depending on their next result. Currently at 33/1 they'll never be favourites so it might be worth waiting, but these odds are definitely too appealing for us to resist. Watch out for Chile, too, who today put on the most attacking show of this year's tournament and look strong at 50/1.

Odds on Liverpool's Next Manager

The online betting sites have gone wild with traffic thanks to the conjecture over who will take over at Liverpool Football Club after Rafa Benitez stood down as manager. We thought we'd take a look at the candidates and discuss where the smart places are to put your money.

Online casino William Hill has Fulham's Roy Hodgson as favourite to take over at 13/8. This might not be a bad shout, as the man is definitely the press' golden boy and would feel he has the advantage in taking on the challenge. Martin O'Neill, currently of Aston Villa, comes in second at 7/4, something which has clearly come about thanks to rampant media speculation. This is a bet worth avoiding, however, as Villa know how to protect their prized assets. Kenny Dalglish should be ignored at 11/4, as it is unclear whether his coming on as "caretaker" would be enough to win the bet.

Some of the interesting longer odds include Guus Hiddink at 8/1, Mark Hughes at 10/1 and Frank Rijkaard at 16/1. Any one of these three would be a fair shout to take over for different reasons. Hiddink has proved himself worthy in the Premier League and the only tactical mind equal to that of Rafa Benitez, while Mark Hughes is currently without a club and is seeking a return to England. Rijkaard would bring with him useful European contacts and even holds the keys to certain potential signings. For a club working on a budget, such discount purchasing might be too much to pass up.

The World Cup approaches and two of the best online bookies we have found for it are Betfair and William Hill. The odds offered on these two sites are mostly unrivaled, and anyone who fancies a flutter on the highly anticipated tournament should look here first. The odds on Spain are disappointingly short everywhere at 4/1, but equal contenders Brazil are currently 9/2 and Argentina, who recently suffered a blow thanks to Maradona's strange team choice, are at 7/1. England sit at 6/1.

The extra markets offered on William Hill are extensive and rival even those available on Bet365, a site that prides itself on its live in-play markets. Over/under bets and group winners (even offering a place option) are actually quite rare online. The length of the odds obviously deplete significantly when placing on both a first or second finish, but this may be useful in choosing either Portugal or the Ivory Coast. Both are equal to finish second in a group that includes Brazil, and both are satisfying long.

The most interesting element, though, are the odds on top goalscorer. David Villa is currently in favourite at 8/1, while other strikers include Wayne Rooney at 10/1 and Fernando Torres on 12/1. Thanks to the fact that the Ivory Coast aren't favourites to get through their group, Didier Drogba sits at a mouth-watering 33/1. These odds will shorten significantly if they do get through, so it could be worth the risk now.
